What is AirPlay?
AirPlay is a wireless technology launched by Apple Inc. in the United States. Airplay can transfer videos, audio, and images from devices such as iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to third-party certified devices using Wi Fi as the carrier, which is fundamentally different from Bluetooth wireless.
Working principle of AirPlay
Mobile phones, computers, routers, and Airplay speakers all have a common feature of supporting Wi Fi carriers, but having Wi Fi signals alone is not enough. We also need the Airplay protocol to let these devices know what they are transmitting. Airplay is the 'language' between devices!
What can AirPlay do?
If you think Airplay can only be used for listening to music, you are completely wrong. Airplay can not only transfer audio files, but also transfer files such as videos and photos to Apple TV and printers, all of which are recognized through the Airplay protocol.
The certification requirements that AirPlay accessories must complete are:
1. Wi Fi Alliance's "Wi Fi Certification" program;
2. Wi Fi Multimedia (WMM) authentication;
3. MFI certification
